The Ninth Wave aren’t afraid of creating something that defies genre boundaries. Their latest single, ‘Maybe You Didn’t Know’, is a hefty electronic track filled with industrial influences that add a new layer to its heavy build-ups and art-pop hooks. “The song is about finding comfort in the uncomfortable and being able to hide yourself behind an overbearing and engulfing undefined fear,” they explain. ‘Maybe You Didn’t Know’ is released alongside a surreal, futuristic video that sees the band performing on a darkened stage while being constantly looped by a yellow car. Somehow, it fits the eclectic sound of the track perfectly. Their next full-length should drop this year. -Dan Peeke
